 Inception
It's well good.
Thoughts?
(Minimal opening post, as I don't want to spoil anything.)

 Re: Inception
The special effects are really impressive. First film probably ever where I'm actually interested in seeing the making of stuff on the DVD.

 Re: Inception
Yet it's not as much about them as the trailers might have you believe, and the effects really serve the story well.

 Re: Inception
Is this the one where Leo goes into peoples dreams?
It looks good. I would like to see it one day.

 Re: Inception
Ah yes, I've seen trailers. Yes, I've seen trailers. I will one day, don't worry.

 Re: Inception
Really good.
Not at all sure why people are comparing it to The Matrix though. Beyond sharing some stylistic elements in terms of special effects and the fact that both films feature people lying down with their eyes closed, I'm not seeing the connection.

 Re: Inception
People like comparisons, don't they? Although I realise they're not exactly bedfellows, I can see connections like 'What is real?' and so on. And I'd be quite happy saying that this was better than The Matrix, at least at this point.

 Re: Inception
As an instant reaction, sure - it was our kick.
But long term, surely for the best, as it brings the viewer further into the story. To compare - you might as well have had a box at the end of Blade Runner reading... well, you decide what the box should read!

 Re: Inception
We heard you like dreams, so we put dreams in your dreams
Watched it today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Some very nice effects and set pieces. I also thought they handled the whole dreams thing rather well without having to resort to too much over the top silliness. Also thought the ending was rather cleverly done too, although there was a similar reaction in our showing to what powers mentioned.
